Fifth Identification

Emilio Aguinaldo:

Emilio Aguinaldo was extremely important to the time period of
early 1900s. Emilio was primarily known for
gaining Manila from the Spanish, getting control of Philippine islands, he turned to the dark side.
Emilio is important to the time period of the early 1900s in a couple of
ways. One such way Emilio is important to the time period is because
He gained Manila for the United States. Another way Emilio is important is because
He turned to the dark side. By this, I mean that Emilio was before a Philippine fighting for independence, and once the US gained that land, Emilio turned his back and fought against America. Emilio ties into Zinn's writings because he was the man that revolted against the Spanish and the Americans, right? In the book, they only explain that he stole Manila from them, and then turned his back on the US. In Zinn's writings, he was the leader of a social group, and when him and his social group went up against high security United States people, he lost. The US had forgotten that he had also been fighting for Filipino Independence.
